I was at the Meeting Professionals International (MPI) conference this week in San Antonio, TX debuting our newest innovation ImmersionLive along with our partner and friend EJ Corporan from event designer Ansera. 

EJ and I spoke at two sessions.  In the first, EJ did a live demo of ImmersionLive for the attendees while I discussed the science and development technology.  Based on the very high and sustained neurologic Immersion, the session was a hit.  Indeed, after our session concluded, people stayed around and asked questions and wanted to know more about the technology.

During our second session, EJ and I made the case that IRL events are essential because when people congregate, more information is share, more deals are done, and more enjoyment is had.  The neuroscience behind this is really interesting: my lab's published research has shown that neurologic Immersion is contagious.  In plain language, people having a great time "infect" others in a measurable way, making a room or an entire event more valuable.  In an actual, neuroanatomical sense, humans are social creatures and we flourish when we are around others.  

Event designers and producers thrive when attendees are wow'd during each part of an experience.  After spending 20 years identifying the brain signature of "wow," ImmersionLive makes it so easy for anyone to quantify what your attendees love (and don't love) during a one hour session or 10 hour day.  If you can wave a wearable over an iPad, you can collect Immersion data.
